RedZinc is an Irish SME based in Dublin. The company is focused on helping network operators obtain addition business value from packet networks by providing value added solutions.

Using RedZinc solutions, network operators can increase revenue per user by empowering third parties (value added services providers, applications companies and enterprises) to access Quality of Services resources on the public internet. The resources are packaged into QoS events, made available to the webco or enterprise (e.g., Hospital) via an API (application programming interface) and charged to the webco or enterprise on an itemised wholesale bulk basis. The solution is available as a managed service reducing IT workload.

 

The Computer Science Department of the University of Málaga is one of the leading departments in Spain in publications and research projects. It includes Mobile Network and Software Reliability (MORSE) group that has great experience in software for mobile communication networks and has participated more than 20 national and international projects funded by public funding and by collaborations with private companies like Alcatel-Lucent, Adif, Agilent Technologies, AT4 wireless, Optimi (now part of Ericcson), or Telefónica.

MORSE comprises a team of professors and researchers of the UMA’s Department of Programming Languages and Computer Science. Its headquarters are at the Technical High School on Computer Science and the Andalusian Center for Research in Computer Science (CAITI) in Malaga. The group’s activities are geared towards both basic and applied research, along with significant dedication to technological transference.

 

EURECOM is a research and teaching institute located in the Sophia Antipolis Technopole in the South of France. EURECOM’s research activity focuses on 3 domains which have led to the creation of three research departments: Networking & Security, Multimedia Communications, and Mobile Communications. EURECOM has an approximate budget of 10.2 million Euros of which 5.2 million are from research contracts. It has some 150 employees among which 126 are scientists (25 professors, 26 engineers, 75 PhD. students).

The Mobile Communications Department has its focus on digital signal processing for mobile communications, information theory, 4th and 5th generation cellular radio systems, wireless protocols, mobile ad hoc networks, software radios, and SW and HW prototyping. In addition to fundamental research, the department has strong expertise in open-architecture multi-way real-time radio platforms (www.openairinterface.org) for use in publicly-funded research projects aiming at demonstrating innovations at all protocols layers (RF to applications).

The department has significant and well-known experience in the design, system validation methodology and tools, and prototyping of real-time wireless systems both in the area of RF/baseband and radio-access and network protocols. Moreover, it has a history of providing experimental radio equipment to partners in EU/National collaborative project frameworks.
